Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra visit

This term, years 3 and 4 have been studying music in all its forms. As part of the topic they told the story of Peter and the wolf using their storytelling skills. The children had a fantastic opportunity to visit the Liverpool Philharmonic orchestra playing in their symphony hall. The children were so excited to travel to a big city, seeing the Christmas lights on the Cathederal and the decoration before we arrived at the venue. The children had written letters to the conductor before our visit so the children were delighted when the musicians waved at them all. There were actually gasps from our children as the orchestra started and then we didn't hear a peep from them as they sat spellbound throughout the whole performance.  The children's faces as the Orchestra played were a sight to behold and some of the words they used to decribe the experience were: amazing, magical, awesome and unforgettable. This really was a school experience that will stay with them forever and an experience we all felt privileged to be part of.
